Pride is the crutch that keeps the heart injured and limping nowhere with false visions of self sufficiency. God opposses the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Believing in the love and power of Christ Jesus is believing that he told us the truth. Jesus said that he came for the injured. A crutch is something that we use then discard when we don't need it. Jesus Christ is the source and sustainer of all life. We can be strong in the Lord and his mighty power.
